Afternoon Strolls.

Afternoons | Sally's Baking Addiction

Afternoon breaks from work to go exploring // eat pumpkin oatmeal bars.

(I just re-shot those bars! They’re a recipe from 2012 that I make every single year. Like, at least 3 times a Fall season. YES to pumpkin.)

Afternoons are my 2nd favorite time of day. Mornings trump all. More on that soon. In the late afternoon, Kevin’s finishing up work, I’m usually winding down from a day of chaos, I’m thinking about dinner options, having a snack, definitely more coffee, talking about our days, and strolling around with Jude.

And I’m usually freaking out that I don’t have enough cute clothes for my Sally’s Candy Addiction book tour. (<– book tour dates and locations listed right there!)

So I should go to the mall one of these afternoons.

On another note, I think this rusty fence is pretty.

It definitely is, right? Am I seeing things?

Fall’s right around the corner. So close I can taste it.

Manayunk Towpath murals. I love them. They’re unexpected, but fit in. The paintings and glass mosaics are vibrant, bright, and definitely one of my favorite little spots in the Philly area.

  1. You have amazing photography skills! I love reading BOTH your blogs!

  2. Hi Sally! I am LOVING you photography blog! I am a beginner photographer, and you have inspired me so much. Thank you!

  3. As always, your pictures are amazing. The rusted fence is indeed pretty. And that last one with the weeping willow and all the other trees looks like you’re in a fairy land!

After work, I usually go to the gym. I do remote tech support, so I sit most of the day. I need to get all that pent-up energy out! Then I usually make dinner for Boything and me and catch up on my DVR (sometimes at the same time). Weekend afternoons are usually dedicated to cleaning…although this Sunday I’ll be at Super Sunday in Media!

    • Liz, our days sound identical. I usually workout in the morning– so besides that, same stuff! I’m sitting most days at the computer working on posts and leave baking/photos to only a couple days/week. Have fun this Sunday!

  4. Great pictures Sally! Love the pictures from the walking trail.

  5. Loved reading this post and seeing your lovely photog skills in the outdoors 😉 Pretty much every time I shoot a recipe I literally think “How would Sally shoot these…” And “Darn I really need that turquoise plate she has” Haha… but seriously 😉 After work I typically head to the gym. On weekend afternoons it has been bike rides, walks, or kayaking! That shall soon change with the weather though.

  6. Wow…again, another gorgeous post! I LOVE your photography blog so much as I am a wanna-be photographer. You inspire me so much! I love that rusty fence….

  7. Great pictures Sally.  Each draws the interest of the viewer, me. =)

  8. Love those shots of the tow path!  The mural under the bridge is one of my favorite parts of Manayunk too!

  9. Love that Jude!  (And the other pictures too!)  After work…three nights a week a friend and I go workout with a personal trainer, then home to fix supper and do laundry and pick up after the boys (which is never-ending!!!) Eventually I relax (after my shower) and have some down time with my hubby.  Weekend afternoons are usually spend cleaning or shopping.  Soon to be painting because I’m tired of the colors in our house and need to update! 🙂  Keep the pictures coming – it’s interesting to see places I will never go!

  10. Hi Sally! I have been following your blog for years and love that you added this photography section. Would you ever consider selling these photographs or something? I really, really would love to print out/frame the one on this section, fourth picture down to put in my bedroom as well as the Coast Guard ship one in your Seattle section. I wanted to just comment and ask and see if you’ve had similar requests? Please let me know!! Have a nice day 🙂

  11. Love your pics they are amazing! Jude is so adorable! #inspiration
