Lots of rain, lots of pink blooms to enjoy, and looooots of great food. A couple of the food shots were taken last month at the workshop, but most of them are from my own kitchen. I have to tell you! I just bought some Lightroom presets to add some gorgeous filters to photos. Having so much fun playing around with these. Have you ever downloaded or purchased presets?

Highlights this month: our friends got married, trips to the creek with Jude, the rain finally stopped, bought some new furniture for the house, and my dear friend asked me to be her matron of honor. Hoping you’re having a fabulous May so far!!

PS: Can everyday look like THIS? ↓ ↓

  1. I love the first picture of the pink blooms! So pretty!! And your Snapchats of Jude lately are the best!! 🙂 P.S. I thought of you last Friday… It was National Apple Pie Day! I saw you mentioned National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day in your Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar recipe yesterday. I’m surprised you didn’t talk about your “favorite dessert day.” HAHA 🙂

    • I know I feel SO SILLY for forgetting apple pie pie!! I wrote it down in my calendar for next year so there WILL be a celebration in 2017. Whoops!

  2. Those pink blooms are lovely! And love that huge grin on Jude 😀

I just wanted to ask you if you use a filter or make some new Lightroom settings to have some of your photos have this faded vintage look?

I’ve heard of presets but don’t know much about them, how do they work?

Love your red boots, perfect to cheer up those gray rainy days. And speaking of cheerful, raspberries always make me smile, they are such a lovely burst of colour 😀

    • Hey Stella! I recently purchased a bunch of fun presets/filters for Lightroom– see that link in the post. One click of a button applies the preset settings to your photo(s) 🙂

  3. Love the pics! LOVE the pink blossoms too! I’ve been taking lots of pics too of my spring blooms around the property. My passions for photography only focus on Nature, Food, Flowers and Furry Friends! And it only gets better with Cake and Sprinkles! Sorry to say I am not advanced enough to understand let alone purchase Lightroom Presets….how does this software work or enhance your pics?

    • Lightroom presets work like Instagram filters. One click of a button changes your photo based on the settings you “preset” with it. You can buy or download presets that others have made to get some really pretty faded/filter looks on your photos. It’s fun!

  4. I stared at that nacho picture for a good 20 seconds before realizing I’d froze. Would love a SBA nacho recipe someday! 😀 Happy May!

  5. So pretty, Sally. These pictures really encompass the lovely season of Spring! Those purple flowers are gorgeous, and I love your creative food photography shots (um those pancakes!!!) 🙂

  6. So excited to be following your blog! I love your photos and recipes. Thanks so much for the inspiration 🙂

  7. I’m fairly certain you have the cutest dog on the planet.

  8. I agree with Sara – A nacho recipe sounds great!  I was trying to pick out some of your ingredients from the picture but a savory recipe for nachos would be awesome!!

  9. I second the request for a nacho recipe, or at least of list of the fixings you topped those with.  They look amazing!!

  10. I’m in love with these pictures. Great job

  11. Beautiful photos! 🙂 I love how vibrant and colorful everything is!

  12. WOW. Awesome job Sally. That one of the syrup literally made my mouth water 😉 I might have drooled a little… Thanks for sharing!

  13. Dear Sally. I think this is the first time I’ve ever commented on someones blog, but I just have to say that your pictures are amazing! I feel like I could reach out and touch/devour all of your baking! I’ve stayed up much too late looking at your site so I’m forcing myself to stop now. Hopefully I’ll be dreaming of your gorgeous photos tonight!
